Job description

Supply Chain Analyst I

Department: Supply Chain
Reports To: Manager, Supply Chain
Location: The Woodlands, TX (In-Office, with periodic warehouse/field visits)
Schedule: Full-time

Position Overview

Centric Fiber delivers industry-leading high-speed internet to ground-up commercial and residential developments and master-planned communities across major metropolitan markets in Texas, Arizona, and Central Florida. Every community we bring online depends on the right materials, vehicles, and contractor crews being in the right place at the right cost.

The Supply Chain Analyst I makes that happen. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, this analytically focused role spans procurement, fleet management, contractor management, and warehouse inventory. The analyst maintains the supply and demand models that keep materials and equipment aligned with the construction and installation pipeline, supports labor rate negotiations and strategic supply agreements, monitors contractor compliance, defines fleet service and replacement requirements, and oversees warehouse inventory accuracy. The role offers broad, hands-on exposure across the supply chain function and is designed for a data-driven, detail-oriented analyst ready to grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

Supply & Demand Planning

  • Maintain and curate supply and demand models that forecast material and equipment needs (fiber, conduit, hand holes, enclosures, ONTs, and network electronics) based on community build schedules, subscriber growth, and installation volume.
  • Monitor vendor lead times, safety stock levels, and reorder points; flag projected shortages or excess inventory before they affect construction or service schedules.
  • Update models as project timelines, pricing, and demand assumptions change, and keep model logic, data sources, and assumptions clearly documented.

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Support labor rate negotiations with construction, splicing, and installation contractors by benchmarking market rates, analyzing bids, and modeling the cost impact of proposed rate changes.
  • Support the development and management of strategic supply agreements, including RFQ preparation, bid comparisons, pricing and term tracking, and a renewal calendar for key agreements.
  • Create and track purchase orders, maintain vendor records, and reconcile vendor invoices against agreed pricing and contract rates.

Contractor Management & Compliance

  • Monitor and maintain contractor compliance documentation, including MSAs/SOWs, certificates of insurance, licenses, safety certifications, and W-9s; track expirations and follow up on gaps before they lapse.
  • Reconcile contractor invoices against approved rates and completed work, and escalate discrepancies for resolution.
  • Maintain contractor performance scorecards in partnership with Field Operations and Quality Assurance leadership.

Fleet Management

  • Track fleet utilization, preventive maintenance schedules, service history, fuel, and cost-per-vehicle data.
  • Develop fleet service and replacement requirements, including lifecycle analysis and replace-versus-repair recommendations to support capital planning.
  • Coordinate with fleet service vendors to schedule maintenance and keep vehicle records, registrations, and inspections current.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Oversee warehouse inventory accuracy through cycle counts, receiving and issuing processes, and periodic reconciliations to the system of record.
  • Track serialized and high-value equipment, monitor shrink and obsolescence, and support material kitting for field technicians and contractors.
  • Recommend process improvements to warehouse layout, inventory controls, and stocking levels.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports on spend, inventory levels, contractor compliance, and fleet KPIs for the Manager, Supply Chain and Fleet & Field Operations leadership.
  • Perform ad hoc cost, savings, and variance analyses to support operational and budgeting decisions.

Note: Scope of responsibilities may evolve as the supply chain function matures and the company grows.

Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative ability through coursework, internships, or professional experience.

Skills

    • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into clear recommendations.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and building and maintaining forecasting or scenario models.
    • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with vendors, contractors, and field teams.
    • Ability to learn ERP, procurement, and inventory systems quickly.

Work Conditions

    • Full-time, in-office role at The Woodlands, TX headquarters, with periodic travel to warehouse, fleet, and community field sites.
    • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required.
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs during warehouse cycle counts and receiving.
    • Proven ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Degree concentration or coursework in supply chain management.
    • 1 to 2 years of experience (including internships) in supply chain, procurement, inventory management, fleet management, or operations analysis.
    • Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite, particularly purchasing, inventory, and vendor management modules.
    • Experience in telecommunications, construction, utilities, or field-services environments.
    • Familiarity with fleet management or telematics platforms.
    • Working knowledge of SQL or Python for data analysis, AI platforms a plus.
    • Interest in pursuing a professional certification such as ASCM CPIM or CSCP.
  • Great benefits (medical, dental, vision, and more)
  • Generous PTO policy
  • 10 company-paid holidays
  • 401(k) plan with 5% company match
