Long Term Contract

Schedule:

• Every weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
• Some holidays on a rotational basis, only a few times per year
• Holidays paid at straight time

Responsibilities:

• 75% scheduling jobs through BMC Control-M/EM and making temporary/permanent schedule modifications.
• 25% managing, monitoring, and analyzing mainframe and distributed batch workloads and job abends.
• Identify and resolve common abends using JCL and communicate with programmers/support staff.
• Monitor alerts/shout messages, determine severity, follow escalation procedures, and escalate when SLAs may be jeopardized.
• Document issues through ServiceNow Incidents & Incident Tasks.
• Manage Control-M/EM calendars and batch workloads for mainframe and client-server applications.
• Use TSO/ISPF, JCL, Control-M/Enterprise Manager, Nagios, IP Monitor, and Tivoli.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience with BMC Control-M and Enterprise Manager for scheduling and managing batch jobs.
• 2–5 years managing batch workload on AJF for mainframe and client-server applications.
• Experience identifying and fixing abends using JCL.
• Experience analyzing alert/shout messages and following escalation procedures.
• Proficiency with TSO/ISPF for analyzing batch job statissues.
• Experience recognizing server problems using Nagios, IP Monitor, and Tivoli.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• BMC Control-M/EM is mandatory.

Desired Skills:

• Expert-level Control-M/EM batch workload management.
• Expert-level JCL abend troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Nagios, IP Monitor, Tivoli, TSO/ISPF, JCL, Control-M/EM, or similar scheduling tools.
• ServiceNow Incidents & Tasks experience.
• General Mainframe and SDSF knowledge.
