Company Summary:

A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced Vice President-level negotiator to join its Global Contract Services team supporting the Markets business. This role sits within a highly visible documentation function responsible for facilitating derivatives trading relationships with corporate, private equity, and institutional clients across Rates, FX, Credit, LATAM, and other macro products. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced derivatives documentation professional to take ownership of complex negotiations, partner directly with front-office stakeholders, and serve as a key advisor on transactional and regulatory risk matters.

The VP, Negotiator responsibilities…

  • Leading negotiations of derivatives master documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, DF Protocols, and related ancillary agreements
  • Managing the full lifecycle of documentation negotiations from inception through execution for corporate and private equity clients
  • Partnering closely with Sales, Trading, Credit Risk, Treasury, Tax, Collateral Management, and Client Onboarding teams
  • Conducting due diligence, capacity and authority reviews, and netting and collateral enforceability analysis
  • Negotiating collateral arrangements, including UMR-related VM and IM documentation
  • Providing strategic guidance on legal, regulatory, and transactional risk issues impacting derivatives trading relationships
  • Maintaining accurate documentation records and management information within internal systems
  • Monitoring and implementing regulatory developments impacting derivatives documentation and negotiation practices
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives and contributing to the continued development of documentation best practices

The VP, Negotiator qualifications:

  • Extensive experience negotiating derivatives documentation within a bank, financial institution, asset manager, or law firm environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, and related derivatives documentation
  • Experience with collateral arrangements, including UMR VM and IM requirements
  • Familiarity with DF Protocols, FIA execution agreements, and account control agreements
  • Understanding of loan-linked ISDA structures and associated credit agreements
  • Experience partnering with internal stakeholders across legal, risk, treasury, and front-office teams
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills
  • Law degree preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of MRA, GMRA, GMSLA, or MSFTA documentation is a plus
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are preferred
