Gas Bar Attendant

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for our part-time Gas Bar Attendant position in Wainwright, AB. This is an evergreen posting advertisement for a position that we regularly hire for throughout the year. What you’ll do:

• Engage with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.

• Operate the Point-of-Sale system and processing customer transactions. Training will be provided if needed.

• Ensure department standards are met with inventory, ordering, stocking, and displaying.

• Provide outstanding customer service throughout all components of the gas bar; inside the store, while pumping fuel and while filling propane.

• Follow all regulations and distribution laws around lottery and tobacco.

• Follow opening and closing procedures.

• Resolve customer issues and answer questions.

• Process returns transactions efficiently.

• Maintain checkout operations by adhering to policies and procedures.

• Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping in the store.

• Follow safety protocols at all times.

• Be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.

• Demonstrate day-to-day behaviors and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, and focus on safety.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support team operations and customer service initiatives.

Who you are:

• You have Grade 12 education or equivalent retail and/or customer service experience.

• You’re able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. Loads exceeding 50 lbs will be managed with lifting equipment or assistance in accordance with safety guidelines.

• You are able to stand and move throughout your shift, including walking, bending, and reaching, while staying active with tasks such as assisting customers, unloading freight, stocking shelves and pumping gas.

• You’re action oriented, customer focused and work well with other Team Members.

• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.

• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
