What you’ll be doing

• Installation of a variety of electrical systems, including cables, junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, and switches.
• Performing cable termination and installation of all electrical equipment.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Collaborating with shipbuilding teams to ensure efficient completion of electrical installations.
• Ensuring all work complies with stringent safety and quality standards.
• Contributing to the power and control systems that bring cutting-edge naval vessels to life.

What You'll Need

• A Modern Apprenticeship (SVQ Level 3) or equivalent trade qualification and a SJIB card.
• Experience working in marine installations or major industrial environments.
• Familiarity with risk assessments, PUWER, COSHH, and safe working requirements.
• Ability to read and follow trade drawings, electrical schematics, and technical instructions.
• Proficiency in understanding tag-out processes and conducting safe proving-dead procedures.
• Skill in mounting electrical equipment, earthing components, and completing cable terminations to trade standards.
