Job Description

Position Summary

The EHR Training Specialist is responsible for supporting end-user training, workflow adoption, and go-live readiness activities for a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. This role serves as a trusted training resource, assisting with instructor-led training delivery, classroom facilitation, user support, and reinforcement of role-based workflows and system functionality.

The successful candidate will participate in Train-the-Trainer programs, become proficient in the deployed EHR platform and associated workflows, assist users throughout the training process, and provide at-the-elbow support during go-live events. This position requires strong communication skills, healthcare technology experience, and the ability to work effectively with clinical, administrative, and financial stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Complete Train-the-Trainer certification and maintain proficiency in assigned EHR applications and workflows.
  • Support instructor-led training programs for end users across multiple implementation phases.
  • Facilitate classroom and virtual training sessions as assigned.
  • Reinforce standard business processes, workflows, navigation techniques, and role-based system functionality.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to learners during classroom exercises and practice activities.
  • Answer participant questions and provide guidance on system usage and workflow execution.
  • Assist with training logistics, attendance tracking, and classroom coordination.

End-User Readiness & Adoption

  • Promote user adoption through effective communication and coaching techniques.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and recommend additional support or reinforcement opportunities.
  • Support readiness activities to ensure users are prepared for system deployment.
  • Encourage adherence to established workflows and best practices.
  • Assist with documentation and readiness-related activities affecting operational and financial workflows.

Go-Live Support

  • Provide at-the-elbow support during go-live activities.
  • Assist end users with workflow execution and navigation within the EHR system.
  • Observe user interactions and identify training deficiencies or adoption challenges.
  • Escalate complex functional or workflow issues to appropriate subject matter experts.
  • Document recurring issues, risks, and opportunities for additional training.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with implementation teams, trainers, subject matter experts, and operational stakeholders.
  • Participate in readiness meetings, training reviews, and deployment planning activities.
  • Follow approved training methodologies, curriculum, and delivery standards.
  • Support multiple implementation waves and adapt to changing project priorities and schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering end-user training in healthcare, health IT, or enterprise software environments.
  • Experience supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), or healthcare information systems.
  • Experience conducting classroom, virtual, or instructor-led training.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience creating positive learning environments and supporting adult learners.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel and work onsite is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise EHR implementations and go-live events.
  • Experience in behavioral health, public health, community health, or healthcare delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with role-based workflow training methodologies.
  • Experience providing at-the-elbow support during healthcare system deployments.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle, financial workflows, or healthcare administrative processes.
  • Training certifications such as ATD, CPTD, CTT+, or related credentials.
  • Experience training clinical, operational, and administrative users.
