Looking for a Hr Advisor to join them in Bournemouth.
Location: BH2 6DY
Hours: Monday to Friday 09.00 to 17.00
Salary: 20.29
Job type: Temp, initially until the 27th of March 2027.
This role delivers employee relations casework, with support from senior HR professionals, to help managers across the council/school manage their people resources effectively. You'll ensure operational requirements are met in a timely and effective manner, supporting high-quality, compliant ER services across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to internal customers on complex ER processes and policies, covering absence management, grievance, disciplinary, and performance management, escalating cases to senior colleagues where needed
- Support and coach senior leaders, managers, and Governing Board members through management cases
- Proactively manage ER casework to ensure legislative and procedural compliance
- Review and update policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice; create templates to ensure a consistent approach to ER cases
- Deliver on-the-job training, mentoring, and guidance to managers and HR staff to build their ER capability
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation to support high-quality HR service delivery
- Maintain effective relationships with Trade Unions, supporting case resolution and consultation on people-related matters
- Design and manage systems to monitor ER metrics such as absence, leave, and turnover
- Act as Investigating Officer when required, to avoid conflicts of interest.
Qualifications & Experience
- Part-qualified CIPD
- Experience working in Human Resources
- Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and statutory policies
- Knowledge of HR policies and processes
- Ability to persuade, influence, and change behaviour
- Ability to plan and manage own workload effectively
