Job Description

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Postal Affairs Manager to oversee all aspects of postal strategy for advocacy and communications campaigns. In this role, you will manage USPS relations, interpret and apply postal regulations, optimize mailing strategies, and ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery of high-volume direct mail and printed communications. You will advise internal teams and clients on postal options, analyze data and costs, coordinate vendors and production schedules, and troubleshoot delivery issues. This hands-on position is ideal for a detail-oriented postal expert who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven public affairs environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead postal strategy and planning for high-volume direct mail and advocacy campaigns
  • Interpret and apply USPS regulations, rates, and mailing requirements
  • Manage relationships with USPS representatives and mailing vendors
  • Optimize mail preparation, entry, and delivery strategies to control cost and improve performance
  • Coordinate schedules across internal teams, printers, and mail houses
  • Monitor delivery performance and troubleshoot postal or logistics issues
  • Analyze postal data, costs, and performance to provide recommendations to clients and teams
  • Advise account teams on postal options during campaign planning and budgeting
  • Ensure compliance with postal standards and documentation requirements
  • Continuously track postal policy, rate, and regulatory changes and brief the firm
