Interim Business Analyst x3 – Children’s Services

Daily Rate: £450–£500 per day via Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Contract Length: Initial 2–3 months, with potential extension

Start Date: Immediate

Working Pattern: Hybrid

Positions Available: 3

We are currently supporting a local authority with the appointment of three experienced Interim Business Analysts to support the implementation of a new operating model across Children’s Services.

These are change-focused Business Analyst roles, rather than IT systems integration positions. The successful candidates will play a key role in mapping, reviewing and improving operational processes to support greater consistency, efficiency and service improvement.

The Role

You will work closely with service teams and key stakeholders to understand and document current ways of working, identify gaps and duplication, and develop improved future-state processes.

Key areas of focus will include referral pathways, operational procedures, business support functions and wider Children's Services processes.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop end-to-end process maps and supporting operational documentation
  • Review existing processes and identify gaps, duplication and opportunities for improvement
  • Undertake gap analysis and develop clear improvement recommendations
  • Design future-state processes aligned to the new operating model
  • Support the implementation of the new operating model
  • Facilitate workshops with service teams and stakeholders
  • Gather and document business requirements and operational needs

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, with strong process mapping and analysis skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation experience
  • Experience of service improvement, process redesign and requirements gathering
  • Ability to analyse complex operational processes and translate findings into practical improvements
  • Knowledge of Lean, Service Design, Agile or similar improvement methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within Children’s Services, Social Care or SEND
  • Local government or wider public sector experience
  • Experience supporting transformation, operating model implementation or organisational change programmes

If you are an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in process improvement and transformation, particularly within local government or Children's Services, we would be keen to hear from you.
