Senior KDB+ Developer (Contract)

Location: London (Hybrid)

Day Rate: Up to £950 per day

Contract: 12 months initially

We're seeking an experienced Senior KDB+ Developer to join a Front Office electronic trading technology team in London. Working closely with traders and technology stakeholders, you'll design and deliver high-performance, Real Time KDB+ solutions supporting trading, pricing, risk and analytics platforms.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment, offering direct business engagement and rapid delivery cycles.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop and support KDB+ applications and Real Time data platforms.

* Work directly with Front Office users to understand and deliver business requirements.

* Develop APIs, data models and streaming solutions.

* Build monitoring, analytics and compliance tools.

* Optimise performance across low-latency systems.

* Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers.

Essential Experience

* Strong commercial experience with KDB+/q.

* Development of low-latency, Real Time systems.

* Solid Linux/Unix expertise.

* Performance tuning and monitoring experience.

* Strong understanding of software development and testing practices.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.

Desirable

* Front Office trading technology experience.

* Fixed Income or Capital Markets knowledge.

* Experience with TorQ, Panopticon, qspec or qunit.

* GitLab, CI/CD and deployment automation experience.

* Agile delivery methodologies.
