Job Description

HR Assistant

Fakenham

Full-time Permanent

£26,000 - £30,000

We're working with an established organisation looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated HR Assistant to join their existing HR function in Fakenham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in HR, with the chance to develop their knowledge of employment law, HR processes and employee relations while working closely alongside an experienced HR professional.

The organisation has over 100 employees, providing the successful candidate with broad exposure to HR across multiple offices. Personality, attitude and willingness to learn are particularly important, with a Level 3 HR qualification advantageous but not essential for the right person.

The Role

We are seeking an HR Assistant to provide day-to-day support across the organisation, working closely with Michelle and the wider HR function while gradually taking on more responsibility as their knowledge and experience develops.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day support across the HR function
  • Working closely with the HR lead on a broad range of HR matters
  • Assisting with employee-related queries and providing support to managers and employees
  • Supporting the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Assisting with employment documentation, correspondence and general HR administration
  • Undertaking research into employment law and HR best practice
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and wider employee lifecycle processes
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
  • Assisting with employee relations matters where appropriate
  • Helping to organise and support HR initiatives across the organisation
  • Building strong working relationships with employees and managers across multiple offices
  • Travelling to other offices when required to provide hands-on HR support and build relationships
  • Supporting the wider HR team with projects and initiatives as the role develops
About You
  • Genuine interest in developing a career within HR and employment law
  • Eager to learn, develop and take on additional responsibilities
  • Personable and confident when dealing with people at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Comfortable carrying out research and developing knowledge of employment legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and discreet when dealing with confidential information
  • Previous experience within a private-sector HR environment is advantageous
  • Experience writing or reviewing HR policies would be beneficial
  • A Level 3 HR qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Comfortable travelling between offices when required
What's on Offer
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
  • Opportunity to join an established organisation with over 100 employees
  • Supportive working environment alongside an experienced HR professional
  • Broad exposure to HR and employment law matters
  • Hands-on experience across a wide range of HR processes
  • Opportunity to work with employees and managers across multiple offices
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Genuine long-term progression into a broader HR position
Why Apply?

This role is ideal for an HR Assistant or HR professional at an early stage of their career who is looking to develop and grow within HR, rather than simply provide administrative support.

You will work closely with an experienced HR professional and gradually take on more responsibility across the organisation, developing your knowledge of employment law, employee relations, policies and wider HR processes.

For the right person, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of HR and employment matters, build strong relationships across the organisation and establish a long-term career within HR.
