$25–$38 per hour | Full-time | Up to 100% U.S. travel

GeoStabilization International is hiring experienced Casing Drillers to install casing, anchors, tie-backs, micropiles, and other ground-support systems on projects across the United States.

Our crews work on unstable slopes, emergency geohazard repairs, and structurally sensitive sites. We’re looking for drillers who can handle challenging ground conditions, maintain accurate installations, and take ownership of their equipment and work.

Why Join GSI?

  • Year-round work: A strong project backlog supporting work that protects communities.

  • Employee ownership: Share in the company’s equity growth with no employee investment required.

  • Paid travel: GSI covers approved flights, hotels, food, and other travel expenses.

  • Career growth: Opportunities to advance into Senior Driller, Working Foreman, Superintendent, or Field Operations Leadership roles.

  • Equipment and teamwork: Quality equipment, a focus on safety, and experienced crews.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate geotechnical drill rigs to install temporary and permanent casing, tie-backs, micropiles, anchors, and related ground-support systems.

  • Maintain casing alignment, verticality, depth, orientation, and embedment within engineered specifications.

  • Advance casing through challenging ground conditions while protecting casing integrity and installation quality.

  • Complete pre-use inspections of the mast, drill head, feed system, rod-handling equipment, controls, and safety devices.

  • Set up rigs on stable ground and identify overhead, underground, and changing ground-condition hazards.

  • Perform routine lubrication, preventive maintenance, and equipment cleanup.

  • Complete equipment documentation and promptly report repair needs.

  • Follow site safety plans and maintain clear communication with the crew.

  • Coach less-experienced teammates and coordinate with field leadership, clients, maintenance, and project teams.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three years of deep casing drilling experience in geotechnical, deep-foundation, or ground-support applications.

  • Experience with casing systems such as Symmetrix, ODEX, Elemex, or equivalent systems.

  • Experience with duplex-head, dual-rotary, or percussion drilling systems.

  • Experience installing temporary and permanent casing for tie-back, anchor, or micropile systems.

  • Experience drilling through challenging conditions such as collapsing overburden, mixed-face conditions, rock-to-soil transitions, high groundwater, or flowing sands.

  • Strong understanding of casing sequencing, grout control, structural load transfer, and installation tolerances.

  • Strong equipment inspection and maintenance habits, including the ability to recognize unsafe ground conditions and utility hazards.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

  • Willingness and availability to travel up to 100% throughout the United States.

Preferred Experience

  • Operating rigs such as Klemm, Comacchio, Davey Kent, Marini, Soilmec, Casagrande, Beretta, Drill Kits, or Techno Drill.

  • Down-the-hole hammer (DTH), ring-bit, or overburden drilling systems.

  • Casing tooling, grout plants, and grout testing.

  • Anchor or micropile testing.

What Success Looks Like

You anticipate subsurface challenges, communicate changing conditions, and maintain production without compromising safety or installation quality. You take pride in protecting casing integrity, reducing rework, and helping other crew members improve.

Work Environment and Travel

  • Travel up to 100% to project sites across the United States.

  • Work outdoors in varying terrain and weather, including mountain and desert environments.

  • Work around construction hazards, noise, and heavy equipment.

  • Regularly lift 75 pounds or more and stand, bend, and climb for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $25–$38 per hour, based on experience relevant to GSI projects. Driller Helpers, Drillers, and Senior Drillers are hired at different compensation levels.

  • Annual performance bonus and employee equity ownership program.

  • Company-paid approved travel expenses.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA and FSA options.

  • Accident, life, and disability insurance.

  • 401(k) and generous paid time off.
