Technical Writer | Spring Valley, CA, United States | Hybrid | $55,300.00 - $126,000.00
This employer is a highly respected organization providing program management and technical writing services to the Navy. They are seeking a dedicated professional to contribute to critical training documentation for naval programs, ensuring Sailors are equipped with the knowledge to effectively operate and maintain complex systems. The Role
• Develop, revise, and manage highly regulated military training documentation for a Navy program office.
• Translate complex technical specifications into standardized Navy instructional materials and high-level strategic plans.
• Communicate effectively to ensure program goals are met, quality standards are upheld, and Sailors can perform their jobs to the best of their ability.
• Influence program strategy and contribute to improving warfighter support across the Navy.
• Author or edit Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DoN) training documentation.
• Update program training materials, media, and curriculum development documentation.
What You'll Need
• Experience with development and editing of Navy technical manuals for Fleet Systems.
• Experience with military communications equipment.
• Experience with Navy training policy (e.g., OPNAVINST 1500.76 series) and curriculum development (e.g., NAVEDTRA 130 series).
• Experience with Navy manpower and training databases (e.g., HARPS, CMATT).
• Ability to distill complex engineering data into clear instructions for various levels of Navy personnel.
• Secret clearance and a Bachelor's degree in business or communications.
