Job Description

As a Fleet Personnel Officer - Offshore at BSM, you will engage in crew operations, serving as a key link between ship and shore. You will be overseeing crew planning, recruitment, rotation, and development while ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and cost efficiency to support safe and continuous vessel operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offshore Crewing Mastery: Oversee and execute all daily crew operations, making critical decisions that directly support the operational continuity and rigorous safety needs of our assigned offshore fleet

  • Specialized Compliance: Ensure absolute compliance with all statutory regulations, contracts, and company policies, navigating the complex legal framework unique to the maritime offshore sector

  • Logistics Coordination: Act as the central coordinator for all manning logistics, liaising with onboard crew, specialized agencies, and clients to achieve seamless and efficient vessel manning rotations

  • Dynamic Problem Solving: Provide efficient and practical solutions ("Out-Of-The-Box-Solutions") for non-standard queries, demonstrating your ability to thrive in a rapidly changing operational environment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Commercial qualification or Bachelor’s degree (preferably with a shipping or offshore background)

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Crew Operations or a similar role

  • Experience in the offshore sector is desirable

  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Expertise to find "Out-Of-The-Box-Solutions" for non-standard queries

  • Ability to adapt to dynamic operational requirements rapidly

  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken), German language skills will be beneficial
