Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Analyst to support the testing, maintenance, and production support of Background Record Check (BRC) applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on manual QA experience, functional and regression testing skills, SQL querying knowledge, and experience with Jira Xray for test management and defect tracking.

The candidate will work closely with application teams, business partners, BRC staff, and Contact Center personnel to ensure system reliability, data integrity, and a positive user experience. Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), managing production support tickets, and conducting accessibility testing is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

·       Perform manual quality assurance testing to ensure applications meet business requirements and defined quality standards.

·       Develop, review, and execute test scripts, test cases, test scenarios, and test data.

·       Conduct functional, regression, and workflow testing for Background Record Check applications.

·       Use Jira and Xray to manage test cases, execute test cycles, track defects, and communicate test results.

·       Log, document, track, retest, and verify defects through resolution.

·       Create complex test data to support application and document-testing scenarios.

·       Collaborate with application development teams to investigate issues, validate fixes, and improve application quality.

·       Use SQL queries to validate application data, investigate discrepancies, and support testing and troubleshooting activities.

·       Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including developing use cases, demonstrating workflows, and working directly with UAT participants.

·       Manage and triage support tickets submitted by business partners and escalations received from Contact Center personnel.

·       Provide production support and help investigate application issues affecting internal and external users.

·       Perform WCAG 2.1 accessibility testing as part of application releases and deployments.

·       Identify process gaps, analyze workflows, and recommend improvements to testing procedures and application configurations.

·       Explore and apply automated testing techniques where appropriate.

·       Communicate test progress, defects, risks, and results clearly to technical teams and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

·       Hands-on experience in manual software QA and application testing.

·       Experience creating and executing test scripts, test cases, and test scenarios.

·       Knowledge of software testing methodologies, QA best practices, and defect management.

·       Experience with Jira Xray or equivalent test management functionality, with direct Jira Xray experience preferred.

·       Experience with functional testing, regression testing, test execution, and results reporting.

·       Experience tracking defects from identification through resolution and verification.

·       Working knowledge of SQL querying for data validation and troubleshooting.

·       Strong analytical, problem-solving, and workflow analysis skills.

·       Experience gathering requirements and collaborating with business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience testing Background Record Check (BRC) applications or similar government or public-sector systems.

·       Experience supporting production applications and triaging Contact Center or business-user escalations.

·       Experience assisting with UAT planning, use-case development, workflow demonstrations, and execution support.

·       Knowledge of automated testing tools or frameworks.

·       Experience with WCAG 2.1 accessibility testing, including testing as part of application deployments.

·       Experience working with application teams to troubleshoot issues, validate fixes, and improve workflows.
