Research Associate, Research Discovery
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19146
Pay Rate: $28 $30/hr on W2
Shift: 1st Shift | 5 Days Onsite/Week
Contract: 6 Months | Possible Extension
We are seeking a motivated Research Associate, Research Discovery to join an In Vivo Discovery team focused on developing targeted vectors to reprogram cells in vivo for the treatment of cancer.
This is an entry-level scientific role ideal for someone with hands-on laboratory research experience who is eager to build expertise in molecular biology and discovery research. The Research Associate will perform routine laboratory experiments and simple to moderately complex assays under the guidance of experienced scientists.
Key Responsibilities- Perform assigned laboratory experiments following established protocols and procedures.
- Execute routine laboratory procedures accurately while following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety requirements.
- Troubleshoot basic experimental issues and escalate complex problems to senior scientists.
- Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data to identify trends and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, electronic lab notebooks, and experimental data.
- Use Benchling and other laboratory documentation tools to record procedures, observations, and results.
- Assist with technical summaries, presentations, and reporting of experimental findings.
- Collaborate with scientists and research team members to support project goals.
- Learn and apply new laboratory techniques and instrumentation as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented research environment.
- Occasional weekend work may be required.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related Life Science field.
- 0 2 years of hands-on laboratory research experience, including academic, internship, co-op, biotech, or pharmaceutical experience.
- Strong foundation in biological sciences and basic laboratory techniques.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques.
- Experience with bacterial culture and bacterial transformation is preferred.
- Experience with plasmid cloning, amplification, and analysis is preferred.
- Experience maintaining electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN); Benchling experience is preferred.
- Ability to analyze and present experimental data using Excel, PowerPoint, Prism, or similar tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and data quality.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and GLP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Philadelphia, PA, 5 days per week.
