Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Middleware Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, automation, and operational readiness of enterprise middleware and data platforms in a mission-critical environment. The role focuses on Linux administration, Kubernetes and OpenShift, infrastructure automation, observability, production readiness, and platform reliability. The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership to deliver secure, resilient, scalable, and highly available platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and operationalization of enterprise middleware and data platforms.

  • Design and maintain secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available infrastructure platforms.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployments, monitoring, and operational support processes.

  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems and container platforms, including Kubernetes and OpenShift.

  • Implement observability capabilities covering logging, monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis.

  • Establish production readiness standards, operational runbooks, disaster recovery procedures, and support models.

  • Lead production readiness reviews, go-live planning, deployment coordination, and operational handovers.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams to onboard applications and services onto platform environments.

  • Use Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools to automate infrastructure and configuration management.

  • Develop scripts using Python, Shell, Bash, or similar technologies to improve operational efficiency.

  • Partner with third-party technology providers to resolve platform configuration, performance, and operational issues.

  • Apply security, resilience, availability, and disaster recovery practices across platform engineering activities.

  • Mentor engineering teams on platform engineering, automation, operational readiness, and production support best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, middleware, or related technical roles.

  • Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Linux environments.

  • Practical experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or comparable container platforms.

  • Experience implementing observability solutions for monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management.

  • Proven experience supporting production readiness, go-live activities, and mission-critical production environments.

  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent technologies.

  • Scripting proficiency in Python, Shell, Bash, or similar languages.

  • Understanding of infrastructure security, high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery.

  • Experience developing operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.

  • Ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate with infrastructure, security, development, and vendor teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RDF triple stores.

  • Familiarity with graph databases and enterprise data platforms.

  • Experience in financial services or banking environments.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure architectures.
