Job Description
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing qualification audits of potential and existing suppliers, including special process and aerospace classified part audits; maintain approved supplier list.
- Monitor supplier quality performance. Coordinate improvement activities for poor suppliers and certification efforts for exemplary suppliers.
- Assist in training of company and supplier personnel in supplier quality processes.
- Assist in development of appropriate training material.
- Lead or coordinate training of supplier personnel in inspection and test methods and acceptance criteria.
- Assist with design, measure, audit, and improvement of supplier quality processes that satisfy customer expectations.
- Document and maintain supplier quality procedures.
- Conduct audits to ensure internal compliance.
- Participate in internal activities in support of major customer and third-party certification efforts.
Requirements
- A Bachelor Degree is required; Engineering or Technical is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in Quality / Supplier Quality Engineering and/or Process / Manufacturing Engineering.
- Manufacturing experience…Preferably in a Regulated environment…Aerospace, Medical Device, Automotive, etc.
- The candidate should have knowledge of industry, government and international quality system standards and their application to an industrial environment and knowledge of manufacturing processes and related process controls.
- Demonstrated history of effective problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in utilizing APQP tools including: Control Plans, FMEA's, PPAP and the ability to effectively communicate advance quality concepts, plans and technical data internally and with external (customer or supplier) personnel at all levels.
