Role Purpose

Sealed Air Australia is looking for a Quality Improvement Manager!

Based out of Fawkner site, you will develop and execute site quality strategy, ensuring compliance with quality management systems, driving continuous improvement, reducing process variation, and delivering customer-focused quality outcomes across all products distributed thorugh the Fawkner site.

The role has responsibility for all quality management activities associated with products distributed through the Fawkner site, including locally manufactured, externally manufactured, and intercompany-sourced products. You'll also lead site quality assurance, quality control, customer complaint management, quality systems compliance, continuous improvement programs and regulatory compliance activities.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and develop the Quality team to achieve safety, quality, service and cost objectives.
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture through coaching, mentoring and capability development.
  • Act as a member of the Site Leadership Team contributing to overall plant performance.

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure effective closure of findings.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and company quality requirements.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma and statistical process control methodologies to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Establish and execute the site quality improvement roadmap.

Customer Quality

  • Lead customer complaint investigations and ensure timely resolution.
  • Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and reduce customer quality incidents.
  • Act as escalation point for major quality events impacting customer.

Operational Quality

  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and R&D to improve process capability and product quality.
  • Monitor and analyse quality performance data and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes to ensure quality risks are effectively managed.

Qualifications & Person Profile We're Looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Science or related discipline.
  • 7+ years' experience in Quality Management within manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading Quality Management Systems and audit programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • ISO 9001
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Six Sigma methodologies
  • Root Cause Analysis tools
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Experience managing customer complaints and corrective action processes.
  • Proven people leadership experience.
