Job Description

Java Developer

Telford / Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite

6 months

Up to 450 per day inside ir35

BPSS / SC eligible

Are you an experienced Java Developer looking to work on large-scale, business-critical enterprise applications?

We're looking for a talented developer to join a collaborative team supporting and enhancing a suite of internal applications within a complex enterprise environment. You'll play a key role in maintaining live services, supporting batch processing, and delivering high-quality enhancements while ensuring system stability and performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing production support with ongoing development and continuous improvement.



What you'll be doing

  • Developing, maintaining and enhancing enterprise Java applications.
  • Supporting live production services and resolving technical issues.
  • Working with Oracle databases, writing and optimising SQL queries.
  • Deploying and supporting applications running on WebLogic.
  • Managing code using Git and Maven within controlled release processes.
  • Working with containerised applications deployed on Kubernetes.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.


What we're looking for

  • Strong commercial experience developing Java applications in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting live production systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic.
  • Strong Oracle SQL knowledge.
  • Experience using Git and Maven.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and containerised applications.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative Agile team.


Desirable

  • Experience with Shell scripting.
  • Linux command line experience.
  • Eligibility to obtain SC Security Clearance.
