Epicor ERP/APS Developer – Scheduling Automation

Job Title: Epicor ERP/APS Developer
Location: Knoxville, TN


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Epicor ERP/APS Developer to support scheduling automation and process improvement for a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Epicor ERP/APS, scheduling module configuration and customization, Epicor code development/debugging, and manufacturing scheduling processes.

This position will focus on analyzing existing manual scheduling processes and developing automation solutions to improve production planning, scheduling accuracy, and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, customize, and support Epicor ERP/APS, with a strong focus on the scheduling module.

  • Analyze and automate manual scheduling processes related to job scheduling, machine routing, backlog planning, and production planning.

  • Read, debug, troubleshoot, and extend existing Epicor code, including complex or undocumented code.

  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling workflows and reduce manual effort.

  • Design, develop, test, and implement Epicor scheduling automation solutions.

  • Work independently and take end-to-end ownership of development projects from requirements gathering through delivery.

  • Collaborate with the client''s internal developers, architects, functional consultants, business users, and project teams.

  • Provide production support, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements.

  • Analyze existing Epicor processes and recommend improvements for planning accuracy and efficiency.

  • Develop solutions within defined project timelines and communicate progress to stakeholders.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and production planning processes.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Epicor ERP/APS.

  • Experience with Epicor scheduling module configuration and customization.

  • Strong ability to read, debug, modify, and extend existing Epicor code.

  • Experience automating manufacturing or production scheduling processes.

  • Understanding of job scheduling, machine routing, production planning, and backlog management.

  • Ability to work independently and manage development projects from scoping through implementation.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Manufacturing/industrial environment experience.

  • Experience with Epicor Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS).

  • Experience working with complex legacy Epicor implementations.

  • Experience partnering with both technical and functional teams.

  • Experience with production support and continuous improvement.
