Are you a project delivery leader who wants to help shape how the country's fastest-growing power consumers get connected to the grid? Do you want to own the schedule, budget, and client relationship on high-visibility data center and mission-critical power projects, instead of just contributing to them? If this sounds like you, or you're curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Power Systems Department as our new Power Systems Project Manager, Data Center Focus, and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role
As our new Power Systems Project Manager, Data Center Focus, you will take full ownership of project planning, execution, and delivery for a growing portfolio of data center, mission-critical, and pre-investment infrastructure clients. You will manage scope, schedule, and budget across multi-disciplinary engagements spanning substation design, generation and load interconnection, and early-stage site feasibility, serving as the primary point of contact for clients who often have limited in-house experience navigating energy infrastructure development.
You will work closely with our technical leads across substation engineering, protection and control, and interconnection to keep integrated, constructible designs on track, while also representing Ramboll directly with investors, property developers, and economic development agencies evaluating pre-investment opportunities.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Own project plans, schedules, and budgets for data center and mission-critical power engagements, tracking performance against milestones and financial targets and driving corrective action when needed
Serve as the primary client contact for data center developers, investors, property developers, and economic development agencies, translating client objectives into actionable project scope and guiding clients with limited energy-infrastructure experience through the development pathway
Lead multi-disciplinary coordination across substation design, protection and control, civil/structural, power generation, and interconnection disciplines to ensure integrated, constructible project delivery
Manage subconsultants, vendors, and contract administration in support of assigned projects
Support early-stage feasibility studies, power availability assessments, and preliminary master planning for pre-investment and greenfield data center site opportunities
Identify and manage project risks, developing and tracking mitigation strategies in coordination with technical leads
Lead preparation of proposals, fee estimates, and client presentations, contributing to business development for the data center and mission-critical client segment
Ensure compliance with Ramboll QA/QC procedures and applicable industry standards throughout project execution
Mentor Assistant Project Managers and early-career staff supporting your projects
Coordinate with our Interconnection and Substation Engineering teams to ensure client-facing commitments are technically grounded and deliverable
Your new team
You will be part of an elite team of power system engineers and play a pivotal role in delivering advanced solutions for a wide variety of clients, including energy-intensive industries like semiconductor manufacturing, municipal entities, data center mega campuses, and pioneers in renewable energy. With our substantial growth, seize the opportunity to shape our strategy and contribute to our agile team's rich pipeline of projects.
With growth horizons in cutting-edge domains like HVDC, solar photovoltaics, and offshore wind, our energetic and inventive team, bolstered by global specialists, is committed to advancing Ramboll's reach across the US, notably in states championing progressive climate objectives and sustainability measures. At the heart of our mission is the conviction that electricity is the cornerstone of the green transition toward a carbon-neutral future. Join us in our unwavering pursuit to realize this vision.
About you
From the moment you start at Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. While we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.
These include:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related field
7+ years of experience in power systems or electrical infrastructure project delivery, with demonstrated ownership of project scope, schedule, and budget
Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-load client engagements is strongly preferred
Working knowledge of substation design, power generation, generation/load interconnection processes, and transmission planning fundamentals
Familiarity with ISO/RTO interconnection queue processes (e.g., ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM) and their implications for project schedule and risk is a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and subconsultants on complex infrastructure projects
PMP certification, or active pursuit of PMP, is a plus
Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus but not required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advise clients who have limited energy-infrastructure development experience
Proven track record contributing to proposals, fee estimation, and business development
