Urgent requirement of MicroSoft Security Developer - Contract - Melbourne
Requirements Role Overview- Senior-level Microsoft security professional providing operational support, engineering, and security improvements.
- Supports SOC-aligned operations and enterprise cybersecurity posture.
- Acts as a technical SME across Microsoft security platforms.
- Provide Level 3 operational support for Microsoft security platforms.
- Maintain and improve Microsoft Secure Score in line with government standards.
- Support and optimise Microsoft Defender Suite (Endpoint, Office 365, Identity, Cloud Apps).
- Implement and manage endpoint security, ASR rules, Intune, and device hardening.
- Configure and support identity security using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, and identity protection.
- Implement data protection controls using Microsoft Purview (DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk).
- Provide Azure security support, including policies, logging, RBAC, encryption, key vaults, and landing zone advisory.
- Support incident response, threat investigation, and remediation.
- Contribute to security architecture, design, and roadmap initiatives.
- Produce operational documentation, runbooks, and configurations.
- Deliver knowledge transfer and training to internal teams.
- Participate in governance forums (Architecture and Change reviews).
- Collaborate with SOC, assurance partners, and other service providers.
- 5-10+ years of cybersecurity experience (Senior / SME level).
- Strong hands on experience with:
- Microsoft Defender Suite
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Microsoft Purview
- Azure security and governance
- Experience with Essential Eight, Zero Trust, and cloud security principles.
- Strong troubleshooting, advisory, and stakeholder communication skills.
- CISSP, CISM, or equivalent (desirable).
Duration: 06 Months and possible extension
Eligibility: Australian/NZ Citizens/PR Holders only
