Human Resources Assistant
Independent Stave Company is hiring an HR assistant for our Rickman, Tennessee location. This role is a perfect opportunity for a recent college graduate with a Human Resources or related business degree. Every day you will be involved in essential HR activities such as recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefits, and other employee-centric tasks supporting our growth and development as a company.

Compensation: based on experience

Essential Duties of the HR Assistant’s Role
Coordinate or assist with all aspects of the recruiting and onboarding process, including advertising, scheduling interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, and conducting new employee orientations. Assist with the administration of the HR Systems – UKG experience a plus! Complete various HR-related reporting. Administrative and clerical duties
Benefits Administration: Assist with new employee enrollment and assist employees with the annual open enrollment system.

Answer benefits-related questions as needed
General knowledge of leave of absence management to include FMLA, ADA, disability, and workers’ compensation. Assist with Wellness program enrollment, communication, and inquiries. Communicate and coordinate site events and activities while promoting volunteerism initiatives
Manage the internal communication platforms to update employees and site on essential milestones and other necessary information
Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.

ISO document control and organization, including maintaining controlled documents, tracking revisions, and ensuring records are current and properly organized
Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) defined in the goal tree.

Skills and Competencies of HR Assistant
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or two plus years of relevant experience
Knowledge of HR principles, techniques, and procedures
Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to human resources
Knowledge of HRIS and Benefits Administration systems
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation, and presentation skills
Must be comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activitie
Must be able to analyze data and problem-solve
Teamwork and influencing skills
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt, etc. Employee Benefits
