Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to design, develop, and lead scalable healthcare data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, ETL/ELT frameworks, and healthcare data standards. This role will be responsible for building enterprise-grade data pipelines, leading technical teams, and enabling advanced analytics and reporting across healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data engineering solutions on Azure Cloud.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Spark, and SQL.
• Build and optimize enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms.
• Integrate healthcare data from EHR/EMR systems, claims, financial, and operational sources.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, analysts, and application teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership for data initiatives.
• Implement CI/CD, automation, and best practices for data platform management.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of Data Engineering experience with at least 2 years in a Lead role.
• Strong expertise in Azure Data Platform (ADF, Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Databricks).
• Advanced SQL and Python programming skills.
• Experience with Spark, Delta Lake, and big data technologies.
• Hands-on experience designing data warehouses and dimensional models.
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, EHR/EMR integrations.
• Experience working within HIPAA-compliant environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare provider, payer, or healthcare technology industry experience.
• Azure Certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
• Experience with Power BI, Data Governance, and Master Data Management.
