Job description

AI Agent Developer – Network Capacity Automation
Work Arrangement: Remote
Preferred Candidate Locations: Texas, Missouri, Florida, North Carolina, and New Jersey
Contract Duration: 6+ months

Role summary

Seeking a hands-on AI Agent Developer with working knowledge of network capacity engineering to build intelligent automation for recurring network-planning processes. The primary focus is developing agents and workflows that improve engineer throughput and reduce repetitive manual work.

Initial projects will support broadband capacity engineering, with reusable automation patterns designed to support other planning workflows over time.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Level 2–3 broadband capacity engineers to document planning processes and identify steps suitable for automation.
  • Build AI agents for utilization and traffic-trend monitoring, threshold identification, forecasting support, and capacity-versus-demand validation.
  • Automate recurring work directive creation and processing, with EHB work directives as an early target.
  • Deliver partial or assisted automation where full workflow automation is impractical.
  • Integrate agents with network data sources, planning tools, ticketing and work-order systems, and documentation repositories.
  • Develop reusable automation patterns that can extend to additional planning workflows.
  • Implement human review checkpoints, validation logic, and audit trails.
  • Document agent designs, data flows, and operating procedures, and train engineers and team leads.
  • Measure automation outcomes and recommend additional opportunities.

Required qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience building AI agents or LLM-based automation in production or near-production environments, including agent frameworks, tool/function calling, retrieval, and orchestration.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with APIs and data integration.
  • Experience automating multi-step business or technical workflows, including partial and assisted automation.
  • Working knowledge of telecom or enterprise network planning and engineering, ideally including capacity planning.
  • Ability to translate engineer-described processes into clear requirements and working automation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with network engineering, operations, and supply chain stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands-on Level 2–3 capacity or network planning engineering experience, or close collaboration with those teams.
  • Familiarity with broadband network environments.
  • Experience with data pipelines, time-series or utilization data, and forecasting methods.
  • Experience with workflow, ticketing, work-order, RPA, or low-code platforms.
  • Experience implementing AI governance, evaluation, and guardrails in enterprise or regulated environments.

Success measures

  • Adoption of working automation for a defined broadband capacity workflow, with EHB work directive handling as an early target.
  • Measurable improvement in engineer throughput and reduction in repetitive manual effort.
  • A documented automation pattern that can be reused across planning workflows.
  • Reliable outputs that engineers can validate and incorporate into daily work.
