Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - South Bank, QLD

Join Flight Centre Travel Group as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer and play a critical role in designing, building, and operating our shared cloud platforms. You will empower engineering teams through modern DevOps practices, automation, and cloud native solutions that improve reliability, performance, and security. Working across Azure environments, you'll help shape scalable infrastructure, optimise deployment processes, and contribute to innovative technology solutions that deliver exceptional experiences for our customers.

Day to day:
  • Design, implement, and operate shared cloud build and hosting platforms
  • Create, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
  • Manage Azure cloud infrastructure within the broader Flight Centre technology environment
  • Automate cloud infrastructure, testing, and Infrastructure as Code deployments to improve efficiency
  • Ensure operational reliability and platform performance through automation, monitoring, and observability practices
  • Participate in solution design sessions and develop efficient, testable, and maintainable cloud solutions
  • Review security findings and implement remediation activities in alignment with cloud security best practices
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain engineering quality, standards, compliance, and requirements
  • Research emerging technologies, trends, and best practices to enhance platform capabilities
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation across codebases, architectures, and knowledge repositories
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Technical Business Analysts
You'll be perfect for the role if you have:
  • 1-3 years proven experience working as a DevOps Engineer in Azure cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and Azure security best practices
  • Solid knowledge of cloud networking and routing concepts
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Continuous Delivery practices
  • Hands on experience running containerised applications using Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Experience working with Azure Functions, Container Apps, and Logic Apps
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools including Splunk, Application Insights, New Relic, and Grafana
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Bash and Python
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Azure Certification highly regarded
