Accountant 1

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Accountant 1 for a contract position with a Global Technology Equipment Company located in Milpitas, CA. This is a 16 month contract opportunity.

This role focuses on service revenue accounting close processes, including executing journal entries, account reconciliations, and management reporting. The ideal candidate will also support system and process implementation projects, perform testing, and ensure compliance with internal controls and U.S. GAAP.

Responsibilities:

• Work on service revenue accounting close processes including executing certain revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, and revenue analysis or schedules
• Actively support system and process implementation projects and perform testing to validate system design is appropriate
• Support certain automation testing by leveraging AI models and other tools to validate the reasonableness of the system design
• Prepare or review certain revenue controls for SOX compliance on a monthly or quarterly basis
• Comply with internal controls as well as update process documentation when needed
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and U.S. GAAP for responsible areas

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of one or two years of relevant experience
• Strong fundamental accounting knowledge and ASC 606
• Detail oriented, organized, motivated and able to function in a fast-paced environment, especially during quarter-end reporting periods
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong sense of ownership
• Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills with the ability to get things done
• Advanced Excel skills

Desired skills:

• Accounting or big 4 experience is preferred but not required
• Previous experience with SAP or other comparable ERP is a plus

Pay rate: Up to $46.37 an hour
