Job Description

We are seeking a Mainframe Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in product migrations from CA tools to IBM tools, mainframe automation, and storage operations and a proven ability to optimize z/OS performance, reduce manual effort through automation, and ensure high availability.

Responsibilities:

• Lead product migration from CA OPS/MVS Event Management and Automation to IBM Tivoli System Automation.


• Develop automation scripts using REXX and related tools to streamline operations, monitoring, and incident management.


• Enhance system reliability and efficiency by leveraging IBM System Automation and OPC/MVS.


• Install and maintain storage-related software and utilities.


• Support storage hardware upgrades and firmware updates, coordinating with vendors as needed.


• Provide L2/L3 support for storage-related incidents and drive timely resolution per SLAs.


• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.


• Raise and implement changes through the CAB process and maintain configuration documentation.


• Ensure compliance with audit, security, and organizational standards.


• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize storage operations and reduce manual effort.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in mainframe automation, including IBM System Automation and OPC/MVS.


• Hands-on knowledge of CA OPS/MVS and IBM SA, with proven migration execution.


• Proficiency in REXX scripting for automation.


• Basic understanding of z/OS, JCL, and batch processing.


• Experience providing L2/L3 support and driving RCA and permanent fixes.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in large-scale tool migrations across mainframe environments.


• Familiarity with CAB processes, audit readiness, and documentation standards.
