Job Description

Extra Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Engineer in the Cheslyn Hay area.Details of a Production Engineer
  • Cheslyn Hay
  • Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 5:15pm
  • Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm
  • £28,000 - £43,000 per year (Depending on experience)
  • Permanent
Roles of a Production Engineer
  • Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing (NPI).
  • Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), production documentation and engineering data.
  • Provide technical support to the production team throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality and Purchasing to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Investigate production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
  • Complete Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and maintain accurate engineering records.
  • Ensure manufacturing information is accurate and available before production starts.
  • Support capacity planning and engineering workload management.
  • Mentor apprentices and support the development of junior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
Requirements of a Production Engineer
  • Previous experience as a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar.
  • Background in electrical control panels, electrical assembly or industrial automation.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience producing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across multiple projects.
  • HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is desirable.
  • Project management experience would be advantageous.
