Job Description

Extra Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Engineer in the Cheslyn Hay area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established electrical manufacturing business that designs and builds high-quality control panels and automation systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in introducing new products into production, improving manufacturing processes and providing technical support across the business.

Details of a Production Engineer
  • Cheslyn Hay
  • Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 5:15pm
  • Friday, 8:00am - 12:00pm
  • £28,000 - £43,000 per year (Depending on experience)
  • Permanent
  • Monthly paid
Roles of a Production Engineer
  • Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing (NPI).
  • Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), production documentation and engineering data.
  • Provide technical support throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality and Purchasing to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
  • Investigate production issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
  • Complete Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and maintain accurate engineering records.
  • Ensure manufacturing information is accurate and available before production begins.
  • Support engineering planning and workload management.
  • Mentor apprentices and support the development of junior engineers.
Requirements of a Production Engineer
  • Previous experience as a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar.
  • Experience within electrical manufacturing, control panels or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Experience producing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Engineering qualification such as HNC, HND or equivalent is desirable.
