Principal AI Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Own the technical outcomes and delivery of a major AI value stream, ensuring solutions meet business needs and production standards
Partner directly with business stakeholders and end users to identify AI opportunities and translate ambiguous requirements into effective technical solutions
Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate production-grade Generative AI and applied AI applications, agents, and workflows
Write code regularly and establish technical standards and engineering best practices for the development pod
Build and maintain applications using Python, React, AWS, Terraform, and GitHub Actions
Implement evaluation frameworks to assess AI application quality, performance, reliability, and effectiveness
Design failure-handling mechanisms and human-in-the-loop workflows to support safe and reliable AI operations
Apply agentic systems, machine learning, graph databases, and AI observability practices where appropriate
Lead technical delivery and coordinate engineering activities across a value stream without direct people-management authority
Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and promote consistent engineering standards while remaining hands-on
Operate independently, make sound technical decisions, and continuously improve production AI systems
