Principal Software Engineer
Location: South Cambridgeshire
Working Environment: Hybrid (3 days on-site per week)

The company is a highly reputable technology firm operating at the bleeding edge of radar technology. To meet the demands of an exciting product roadmap, they are looking to bolster their software engineering team with the hire of a Principal Software Engineer.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be working on the software that supports and controls these radars, with a focus on the design and architecture of complex data processing, distribution, and display systems. You will take ownership and steer the development of major new features and product developments, whilst leading by example and ensuring best practices are followed.

Key Requirements:

• Experience of owning and technically leading projects delivering significant software developments.
• 10+ years of software development experience, primarily on Windows platforms.
• Excellent understanding and experience of object-oriented software design with C++.
• Effective at working directly with end customers & users.

You should also have some of the following:

• Software based degree, or an engineering/science degree with software bias.
• Experience in the development of software for the security/defence sectors.
• Experience working with or knowledge of SQL databases.
• Knowledge and experience of effective UI design & UX best practice.
• Good understanding of real-time software design & development.
• Experience with embedded Linux and embedded software development.
