EVENT SALES DIRECTOR

The Event Sales Director is a sales management position.
They are responsible for driving meaningful revenue growth while delivering an exceptional client experience from first conversation through event execution. This individual leads the full sales lifecycle:
Prospecting and business development
Pipeline and and budget ownership
Proposal development and contract negotiation
Event planning oversight
Client retention and account growth
You are both a strategic thinker and a hands-on relationship builder - equally comfortable closing a deal as you are leading a tasting or managing event production details.
SALES LEADERSHIP + REVENUE OWNERSHIP
Develop and consistently exceed an annual individual sales goal across weddings, corporate, social, and drop-off catering
Generate new business through outreach to venues, planners, and strategic partners
Manage pipeline activity and revenue forecasting through CRM tools and spreadsheets
Negotiate contracts with a focus on profitability and long-term partnerships
Identify market opportunities and collaborate with leadership on growth initiatives
Partner with accounting to ensure accurate client invoicing and payment collection
Maintain accurate CRM records and event documentation.
EVENT EXECUTION + COLLABORATION
Create compelling proposals aligned with client vision and Dish standards
Guide clients from inquiry through flawless event execution
Oversee key event details including BEOs, timelines, staffing, and production plans
Partner closely with Culinary, Operations, and Hospitality teams
Work on-site at events when required (This role requires flexibility in scheduling based on event and client needs such as evenings and weekends)

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
3–7 years of hospitality, catering, or event sales experience
Proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue budgets
Experience developing strategic accounts and long-term partnerships
Strong pipeline management and CRM fluency
Contract negotiation and profitability mindset
Experience planning high-touch, large-scale events
Strong leadership presence and cross-department communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in CRM and event management software (Total Party Planner a plus)
Deep understanding of the NYC events market preferred
COMPENSATION + BENEFITS
$75,000 base salary + commission + bonus (Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus commission on all sales, with six-figure earning potential for strong performers.
