Quick Overview
Job Description
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Sales Director to own provider partnerships end to end across mid-size specialty practices and hospital health systems. This is our first dedicated go-to-market hire, and there is no playbook yet. You'll write it.
Nobody you sell to will ever write us a check. Mira Mace is covered by Medicare, so the practice pays nothing. No budget line, no procurement cycle, no ROI model to win. What you're selling is a change in how a clinic or a discharge team works, and costs nothing to the customers you are selling into.
You won't start cold everywhere. Our field physician liaison team already has live referral volume from hospitals, SNFs, home health agencies, and specialty practices. In those accounts you walk in with proof and sell upward, turning one-doctor-at-a-time relationships into contracted, top-down programs. In the practice segment you hunt cold, with no SDR and no marketing behind you.
You'll report to the founder, who has been carrying this sale himself.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the full cycle. Target list, first meeting, signed partnership, live referral volume, across mid-size specialty practices and hospital health systems and the SNFs, LTACs, and home health agencies attached to them.
Build the map. Pick the specialties and account types worth attacking, name the pain each one actually feels, and build the pitch and target persona for each.
Hunt cold. Build the lists, find the contacts, run the outbound, and set your own first meetings. You own top of funnel.
Sell upward where we already have a foothold. Turn the referral relationships our liaison team has earned into contracted programs with the practice owner, the CEO, or the service line lead.
Evangelize until referrals become a habit. Work the case managers, discharge planners, and practice admins, with our success and engineering teams behind you, until Mira Mace lives in the daily workflow in the portal or the EHR.
Carry the number that matters. Accounts that each produce 50 or more referrals, roughly 50 of them in a year.
Feed back what you learn. Which segment pulls hardest, where deals stall, and what needs to be productized, straight into company strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have 5+ years of quota-carrying, full-cycle healthcare sales into provider organizations. Specialty practices, hospitals, health systems, SNFs, or home health.
You've sold adoption, not signatures. You know the difference between a yes in a conference room and a referral that shows up every week, and you've gone back into a building to make the second one happen.
You've done real cold outbound. You built the list, found the contacts, and opened the door yourself, with no SDR and no marketing team behind you.
You've hit a number with no playbook and no cover. That might be first or second seller at a Series A. It might just as easily be a device, hospice, home health, or post-acute territory you built from nothing. We care that you've created referral flow where none existed.
You can build the sales infrastructure yourself. ICP definition, pain mapping, pitch and deck narrative, stage definitions, customer journey.
You can sell on the outcomes providers actually care about: rehospitalization, appointment adherence, prior auth burden, case manager and admin workload.
You have relationships in the provider and post-acute ecosystem you can activate in week one, and you know that access is the start of the work, not the end of it.
You're willing to be paid on referral volume rather than closed logos.
You can hold up under sharp questioning from a health system leadership group without softening the pitch.
NICE TO HAVE
Experience running both motions in one seat: mid-size practices and enterprise health systems.
Background at a healthcare AI or services company with a usage- or volume-based revenue model, where you personally created the demand instead of receiving it
Domain knowledge in prior authorization, patient engagement, care navigation, or post-acute placement.
Experience working alongside a field liaison team and converting field relationships into contracts.
Enough EHR integration experience to know when integration is worth pushing for and when it isn't.
WHO YOU ARE
A hunter and an evangelist. You get energy from changing how a room works, and you keep showing up until the workflow actually changes.
Comfortable with no. Gatekeepers, "send us something," "we already have a vendor," a champion who goes quiet. None of it moves you off the account.
Honest about pipeline. You'd rather tell the founder a deal is dead than carry it another month.
Built for ambiguity. The playbook doesn't exist yet, and that's the reason you want the job.
WHY JOIN US
You write the playbook. First GTM hire. You define the ICP, the pain points, the pitch, and the journey, and the person who does this well becomes the sales leader here.
Warm ground under a cold seat. Patients are already being served inside many target accounts, so you walk in with proof. You still hunt cold in the practice segment, so you keep your edge and your story.
No budget objection. Practices and health systems pay nothing. Medicare funds the work. Every conversation is about workflow relief and patient outcomes.
Founder in the room. He'll co-pitch with you, unblock engineering for integrations, and clear whatever stalls you between deal 5 and deal 50.
Comp aligned to real adoption. Variable comp ties to referral volume, so you get paid on accounts that actually work, and you get full support to make them work.
Meaningful early equity. Competitive compensation and real ownership in what we're building.
ABOUT US
Mira Mace pairs Medicare beneficiaries with a dedicated healthcare advocate who navigates appointments, insurance, and care coordination on their behalf. Our customers get the support of caring nurses while AI agents handle the tedious backend work, all covered by Medicare.
We've felt the pain ourselves. The endless back-and-forth with insurance, surprise bills, and the lack of clarity when you just need answers. Too many people fall through the cracks, and we're determined to change that.
Today, 24/7 personalized health assistance is only available to the rich or the extremely sick. Our vision is for everyone to be able to afford a health assistant who knows their health history deeply, navigates the healthcare system on their behalf, and propels them toward becoming the healthiest version of themselves.
Our founding team brings strong technical experience from companies like Microsoft, Google, Meta, and Amazon, along with serial startup experience ranging from early bootstrapped ventures to Series D scale-ups. We're backed by Foundation Capital, Define Ventures, and top Silicon Valley angel investors.
