Business Systems Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Business Systems Analyst FLSA: Exempt Department: IT Reports to: Department Manager Employer: Hawai'i-based healthcare organization

Position Summary Provides Tier 2 application support under the Department Manager. Acts as the primary liaison between business units, vendors, and the IS Department. Responsible for gathering user requirements, translating them into functional specifications, and managing automated system applications. Handles coding, data interfacing, testing, debugging, system documentation, and researching emerging technologies.

Essential Functions Application Ownership: Serves as the primary owner and administrator for assigned applications, collaborating with users and IS to resolve problems.

Process Improvement: Analyzes workflows to recommend and implement automated process enhancements.

Vendor & System Acquisition: Negotiates with vendors and users to facilitate the acquisition and implementation of information systems.

Technical Support: Partners with the Helpdesk and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.

Data Integration: Develops and manages code for software interfaces using industry standards like ASTM and HL7.

Documentation & Data Integrity: Maintains complete system documentation, creates environment procedures, and ensures appropriate database backups.
