đ Position Details
- Location: Wyndmoor, PA
- Role: Inpatient hospice unit (CNA or HHA)
đ§Ą What Youâll Do
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, toileting, and feeding as directed.
- Provide comfort measures and emotional support to patients experiencing advanced illness and end-of-life care.
- Reposition and transfer patients safely to promote comfort and prevent skin breakdown.
- Assist with ambulation and mobility as appropriate to the patient's condition and care plan.
- Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or comfort level to licensed nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
- Ensure patient rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Change bed linens and assist with maintaining a comfortable, safe environment.
- Clean and disinfect equipment according to established procedures.
- Assist with preparing rooms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Welcome and assist family members and visitors in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Provide comfort items and basic support to patients and families as directed by the care team.
- Assist families in locating resources and communicating concerns to nursing staff.
- Maintain a calm and supportive environment for patients and loved ones.
- Work closely with nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Follow individualized patient care plans and hospice policies.
- Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and sensitivity toward hospice patients and families.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of basic patient care and safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally demanding environment.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and assist patients according to organizational guidelines
- Previous experience as a caregiver or in a healthcare-related role is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic attitude towards client care.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive end-of-life situations
- Strong observation and reporting skills
- Team-oriented mindset
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, turning, and transferring patients
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Proof of Influenza Vaccination or an approved Medical or Religious exemption.
- Employees designated in a driver status, traveling from site to site, will be required to maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance at all times.
