Job Description

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Knoxville, TN
Type: Permanent Full Time
Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
 

Responsibilities
• Build and maintain data pipelines supporting large-scale, cloud-based financial data platforms.
• Develop ontology models and create operational applications to support critical business workflows within an AWS-centric environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate enterprise data sources.
• Build automated alerting and case management tools, ensuring data governance and compliance standards are met throughout the data lifecycle.
• Apply Palantir Foundry expertise to high-impact projects in the financial services space.

Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, with a strong foundation in building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
• 3+ years working directly in Palantir Foundry, including Pipeline Builder, Workshop, Code Repositories, and ontology modeling.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL — capable of writing clean, efficient, production-ready code.
• Experience connecting enterprise systems using APIs, SFTP, and cloud-native data services.
• Background in building operational tools such as workflow automation, alerting systems, or case management applications.
• Working knowledge of data governance, lineage tracking, security practices, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience working with business stakeholders and delivering in Agile/Scrum environments.

Desired Skillset:
• Experience in financial services or fraud investigation, with familiarity with Palantir AIP, agentic workflows, or retrieval augmented generation (RAG) frameworks.
• Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
