Intern - Software Engineering with Security Clearance

DCS has an outstanding opportunity for a Software Developer Intern to join our team in Dayton, OH, working with our Selection and Training branch within our Air/Space Selection and Training Branch. This position offers a hybrid office/remote work arrangement, and elements of software leadership and customer interface. This position will be to support ongoing software application development in Dayton, OH.

Essential Job Functions: Supporting DoD customers in their pursuit of developing, documenting, and maintaining integrative, efficient, and innovative software solutions. Working with multidisciplinary teams on joint, cross-functional software solutions. Participating in business development activities.

Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Pursuing a B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline. In the last year of an Associate's degree program with acceptance to a Bachelor's program, or 2nd year or higher in a BS program, at an accredited institution. Experience (classroom acceptable) with React or Next. JS. Strong interest in programming and software development. Ability to work well in virtual, team-oriented environments. Highly motivated problem solver. Able to work at least 20 hours per week. Local to Dayton, OH, and able to commute to the Wright-Patterson AFB vicinity.

Desired Skills: Willingness to contribute to project management-related activities. Ability to communicate and work directly with customers to achieve project goals. Knowledge of dependency injection and/or provider architecture. Experience with Rust, C++, or another low-level coding language. Proficient with version control software (Git) and software management tools (Gitlab). Demonstrated effective and responsible usage of LLMs.
