Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Engineer - Automation to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, automation, and system design. This role requires a hybrid work schedule (Tuesday through Thursday on-site) and involves working on cutting-edge technologies to enhance the quality, reliability, and security of our systems. The candidate will also mentor team members and lead the implementation of significant capabilities within the domain.

Responsibilities:

• Write tests and document technical work products, including code scripts and processes, adhering to organizational standards and practices.
• Focus on improving the quality and craftsmanship of products and systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify domain-level problems and prescribe actionable solutions.
• Design self-contained systems within the team's domain and lead the implementation of significant capabilities in existing systems.
• Coach team members on techniques to improve reliability, resiliency, security, and performance.
• Decompose complex designs into manageable implementations for less experienced engineers.
• Anticipate potential issues in systems under development and guide the team in implementing instrumentation practices for observability and supportability.
• Define test suites and instrumentation to ensure production targets for latency and availability are consistently met.
• Lead by example by prioritizing the resolution of open vulnerabilities.
• Evaluate potential attack surfaces in systems under development and guide teams in implementing best practices to mitigate risks.
• Identify and prioritize small batches of work to deliver the highest value quickly.
• Advocate for reuse as a first-class consideration in all team implementations to ensure broad reusability.
• Formally mentor teammates and guide them through necessary learning journeys.
• Identify opportunities for introducing new approaches to problem-solving within the environment.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience, including designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications (front-end and back-end).
• 5 years of experience with Python and proficiency with FastAPI.
• 5 years of experience with Restful web services.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Management, or Azure Key Vault.

Nice to Have:

• 5 years of experience with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques and principles.
• 3 years of experience with Terraform and Vault.
• 3 years of professional design and open-source experience.
• 3 years of experience with git and GitHub.
• 3 years of experience working in Windows and Linux operating systems, including shell scripting.
• Proficiency with database and persistence frameworks such as PostgreSQL, Object/Relational Mapping, and query performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.

Pay Range: $60-$65/hr
