Job description

Configuration/Release Manager with Key skill as devops and ability to debug in prod support environment for java bases applications.

Required Technical Skills

  • DevOps & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.

  • Java Application Support: Experience debugging and troubleshooting Java-based applications in production environments.

  • Build & Dependency Management: Maven, Gradle, and application build/deployment processes.

  • Version Control: Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket; branching, merging, tagging, and release management.

  • Scripting & Automation: Shell scripting, Bash, Python, or PowerShell for deployment automation and troubleshooting.

  • Application Servers: Experience with Apache Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly, WebLogic, or similar Java application servers.

  • Production Debugging: Strong skills in log analysis, stack trace investigation, exception handling, thread dumps, and JVM troubleshooting.

  • Monitoring & Logging: Tools such as Splunk, ELK/Elastic Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, or Dynatrace.

  • Operating Systems: Strong Linux/Unix command-line skills and familiarity with Windows environments.

  • Containers & Cloud: Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments is preferred.

  • Release & Change Management: Experience with release calendars, change approvals, deployment validation, rollback procedures, and incident management.

  • Database & Connectivity: Basic to intermediate SQL, database connectivity troubleshooting, REST APIs, and network troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in configuration management, release management, DevOps, application operations, or production support.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing application releases and deployments in enterprise environments.

  • Strong practical experience debugging Java-based applications in production or production-like environments.

  • Experience troubleshooting failed deployments, application startup issues, configuration mismatches, and runtime errors.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, incident coordination, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support critical releases and production incidents..
