Job description
Lumpkin County Schools is seeking applicants for a mechanic position. This position includes all related job duties and responsibilities.
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on school buses and district vehicles.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, brake, steering, and engine-related issues.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure buses operate safely and efficiently.
Inspect and repair vehicles in accordance with state and federal safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and assist with roadside repairs as needed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized bus maintenance facility.
Work collaboratively with transportation staff to ensure buses are safe, reliable, and ready for daily routes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or designee.
