RESPONSIBILITIES
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Remote AWS Software/Data Engineer for a 6 month contract role.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced AWS Software/Data Engineer to help build and scale intelligent platforms that power personalization, predictive analytics, knowledge retrieval, and AI-driven experiences. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and applied AI. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys building reliable, production-grade systems from the ground up. You'll develop scalable services that transform data and events into actionable insights and contextual intelligence for downstream applications and AI-powered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and services using Python
- Build and support APIs, automation frameworks, data processing pipelines, and AI-enabled services
- Manage and automate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools
- Develop longitudinal data models and contextual intelligence platforms leveraging AWS data services
- Build and operationalize machine learning and predictive analytics solutions in production environments
- Create knowledge retrieval and RAG-based systems that provide trusted, traceable information to AI applications
- Develop real-time event-driven architectures that process behavioral and operational data streams
- Enable AI and agent-based applications through secure, observable, and scalable cloud services
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready engineering solutions
- Strong professional experience developing software applications with Python
- Hands-on experience designing and supporting production workloads in AWS
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Knowledge of AWS networking, security, IAM, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Experience building and maintaining event-driven and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of system reliability, monitoring, observability, and operational excellence
- Proven experience delivering solutions from concept through production
- Ability to work across software engineering, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML domains
- Experience building highly available, reusable platforms rather than one-off solutions
- Strong ownership mentality and a passion for creating scalable, maintainable systems

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
