Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Senior Industrial Service Engineer to lead the delivery of complex industrial water purification service and maintenance contracts. This role combines hands-on service delivery with customer relationship management, process optimisation, and commercial support.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining uptime and product quality through preventative maintenance, while also supporting sales growth, profitability, and market expansion. The position requires frequent travel, often at short notice.
Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Perform on-site services including installation, maintenance, process optimisation, and repair of large-scale industrial water treatment systems
- Electrical diagnostics and ladder logic fault finding
- Ensure contractual service obligations are met.
- Deliver training to field staff and customers.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and professional service.
Customer Relations & Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and prospects.
- Conduct regular customer meetings to confirm lifecycle support.
- Promote new technologies and rental assets.
- Ensure remedial works are quoted to maintain uptime and maximise account value.
Proposal & Contract Support
- Assist with scoping, costing, and contract finalisation.
- Support proposal development and commercial negotiations.
Market Insight & Brand Promotion
- Provide input on market trends and growth opportunities.
- Support marketing initiatives including trade shows and seminars.
- Contribute to the development and promotion of new technologies.
Education & Qualifications
- Essential: GCSE Maths and English (Grade 5 or above or equivalent)
- Desirable: Engineering qualification at ONC level or higher
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in servicing and optimising large-scale industrial water treatment systems.
- Strong technical proficiency in RO, ion exchange, filtration, and related technologies.
- Excellent customer relationship and account management skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify upselling opportunities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Positive health and safety mindset.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and administrative reporting.
