They are seeking a skilled Fabricator – Plater to join their dynamic team and contribute to the construction of world-class naval vessels.

The Role

• Interpret engineering drawings and prepare plate material using cutting and grinding techniques.
• Assemble ship structures, ensuring accurate fitting, fairing, and tack-welding of components.
• Fabricate various ship items, including seats, ladders, panels, and watertight doors.
• Operate machine tools for forming materials, such as rolling, flanging, and cutting equipment.
• Work as part of a team to produce high-quality steelwork supporting critical defence projects.

What You'll Need

• A Modern Apprenticeship certificate or Trade Papers, along with relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Demonstrable up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Understanding and application of core manufacturing processes and tack welding standards.
• Confidence and responsibility in operating oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Adherence to SHE principles and risk-assessment requirements, with experience working safely in confined spaces or at height.
