Shift: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm CT

Position Overview

Serves as the dedicated lead technical architect for a major enterprise Application Migration Factory program. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end technical strategy, wave planning, dependency profiling, target-state landing zone architecture, and execution governance for migrating an enterprise portfolio of application workloads from a legacy physical source data center to hybrid target destinations-including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and a customer-managed colocation data center.

Working directly alongside the Randstad Technology Director, client business application owners, Enterprise Architecture Review Boards (ARB), and specialized execution pods (Cloud, Database, Network, Security), you will enforce a structured 10-step horizontal factory pipeline (from intake through Wave 0 pilot, cutover, and post-migration hypercare). You will ensure predictable, wave-based execution with zero business disruption, strict regulatory compliance (HIPAA, PHI/PII, BAA, DSA), and auditable ServiceNow CMDB closeout evidence to enable the physical decommissioning of the source facility.

qualifications:

Key Required Skills

Cloud Platforms & Architecture: Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure and AWS for architecting secure enterprise landing zones, hybrid connectivity, and multi-cloud environments.

Migration Factory Methodology & Strategy: Proven experience leading large-scale migration factory programs (100+ workloads), managing wave planning, dependency profiling, and R-factor rationalization (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire).

Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep proficiency utilizing Terraform, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell to establish automated execution pipelines, provisioning, and configuration management.

Regulated Industry Compliance: Extensive background operating under strict legal and technical frameworks such as HIPAA, PHI/PII, Business Associate Addendum (BAA), and Data Security Addendum (DSA).

ITSM, Discovery & CMDB Integration: Direct experience using discovery tools (Device42, Azure Migrate) and ServiceNow (ITSM/CMDB) for CI mapping, dependency tracking, and generating audit-ready closeout packages.

Job Requirements & Past Experience

Large-Scale Migration Factory Execution: Minimum 8-10+ years of enterprise architecture experience, with a proven track record leading or co-leading complex Application Migration Factory programs involving 100+ applications and multi-thousand server workload relocations.

R-Factor Rationalization & Migration Strategy: Deep hands-on experience evaluating and executing across all major R-factor disposition strategies (Rehost/Lift-and-Shift, Replatform, Refactor, Replace, Retire). Proven ability to standardize high-velocity rehosting (200+ workloads) while isolating complex modernization exceptions.

Regulated Industry Background: Extensive experience in highly regulated sectors (Insurance, Financial Services, Long-Term Care, or Healthcare), with demonstrated expertise operating under strict HIPAA, PHI/PII handling, Business Associate Addendum (BAA), and Data Security Addendum (DSA) legal and technical constraints.

Hybrid Multi-Cloud Architecture: Proven experience architecting and deploying secure enterprise landing zones across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and customer-managed physical colocation data centers.

Automated Discovery & Dependency Mapping: Track record of using automated discovery tools (Device42, Azure Migrate, AWS Application Discovery Service) to ingest raw infrastructure data, map multi-tiered network topologies, identify hidden database/third-party API dependencies, and flag compatibility risks prior to wave execution.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: Demonstrated history of establishing automated execution pipelines using Terraform and Ansible to auto-deploy and harden target cloud environments to precise corporate security baselines.

ServiceNow & CMDB Integration: Direct experience integrating migration lifecycle gate approvals, technical cutover runbooks, and validation logs into ServiceNow CMDB systems of record to deliver auditable, exportable closeout packages (XLSX, CSV, JSON, XML).

Governance & Cutover Ownership: Proven experience navigating client Architecture Review Boards (ARBs), leading live technical cutover runbooks during off-peak maintenance windows, managing rollback/recovery strategies, and directing hypercare and production warranty stabilization periods.

Desired Skills & Experience

1. Technical & Infrastructure Stack

Cloud Platforms: Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure (Landing Zones, Azure Local, ExpressRoute, IAM) and AWS (VPC, Direct Connect, IAM, EC2/S3).

Virtualization & Compute: Technical proficiency in VMware vSphere/vCenter, Nutanix, and Citrix VDI / Virtual Apps & Desktops environments.

Database & Data Platforms: Architectural knowledge of database migration, replication, and data-parity validation across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.

Networking & Security: Strong grasp of enterprise Cisco WAN/routing, firewall rule mapping, TLS/SSL encryption in-transit and at-rest, least-privilege role-based access control (RBAC), and network segment isolation.

Automation & Scripting: Expert proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), Python, and PowerShell for automated provisioning, configuration management, and post-cutover testing.

2. Governance, Methodology & Tooling

Migration Factory Methodology: Mastery of wave-based migration execution-including Wave 0 pilot calibration, application profiling, dynamic wave sequencing, automated cutover runbook orchestration, and rollback execution.

ITSM & CMDB: Deep familiarity with ServiceNow (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB) for Configuration Item (CI) mapping, dependency tracking, and generating audit-ready closeout packages.

Discovery Toolsets: Hands-on skill with Device42, Azure Migrate, AWS Migration Hub, and packet/flow analysis tools.

3. Compliance, Architecture & Leadership

Security & Data Residency: Deep understanding of country-of-origin data residency boundaries, global list screening, and strict least-privilege operational access controls.

Responsible AI & Security Guardrails: Familiarity with private-boundary AI/automation tools for dependency analysis, ensuring zero external data leakage and maintaining mandatory human-in-the-loop technical verification.

Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to represent technical architectures, cutover runbooks, and risk mitigation strategies directly before executive leadership, application business owners, and cross-functional technical delivery pods.
