Job Description

NewGen is seeking a hands on Data Engineer with experience building enterprise data solutions in both Databricks (Unity Catalog, Hive Metastore) and AWS (Glue, Athena, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch) and managing a data warehouse.  This is a technical contributor role, not an architect or manager.  

 Required:

  • Experience data modeling (e.g. understanding when to use dimensional vs relation data models)
  • 2+ years Databricks (Unity Catalog, Hive Metastore)
  • 5+ years of SQL
  • 2+ years of Oracle SQL
  • AWS (Glue, Athena, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch)
  • Familiarity with medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver Gold)
  • Solid communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience and explain the tradeoffs in architectural design.
