React Developer with Entra ID

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced React.js developer to help deliver a high-quality, production-ready web application. This role requires strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript, with a track record of building maintainable, responsive user interfaces and scalable front-end solutions.

The ideal candidate is comfortable making sound architectural decisions, writing reliable and well-tested code, and troubleshooting performance and usability issues. Working in a fast-paced Agile environment, they will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to turn requirements into polished, dependable features.

This is a hands-on role for a developer who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and delivers to a high technical standard.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Professional Experience

• Senior-Level Expertise: 7–8+ years of professional experience in front-end development, including substantial hands-on experience building production applications with React.js.
• Full-Lifecycle Delivery: Proven experience delivering at least 2–3 major web applications from initial requirements through production release and ongoing support.

Technical Core

• React.js Proficiency: Strong command of React.js, including component design, hooks, reusable patterns, and effective state management.
• JavaScript & TypeScript: Advanced experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript, including writing clear, maintainable, and well-typed application code.
• Architectural Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to structure scalable, modular front-end applications using appropriate design patterns and separation of concerns.
• Responsive UI Development: Experience building accessible, responsive interfaces that work across common browsers, devices, and screen sizes.

Security & Integration

• Identity & Authentication: Experience implementing secure web authentication using OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and MSAL is an advantage for enterprise applications.
• API Integration: Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs, handling asynchronous requests and errors, and coordinating API contracts with backend teams.
• Data Handling: Understanding of browser-based data persistence and caching, including the security and privacy considerations of storing sensitive information in a web application.

Stability & Tools

• Testing & Quality: Experience writing and maintaining automated tests for front-end applications, including unit and integration tests.
• Performance Tuning: Proficiency with browser developer tools and React profiling tools to diagnose and improve rendering, loading, and runtime performance.
• Tooling: Experience with Git-based version control, package management, and front-end build tools, as well as CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or equivalent.

Project Execution

• Agile Experience: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, managing deadlines and changing priorities, and communicating progress and risks effectively.
• Release Ownership: Experience supporting web application builds and releases across development, test, and production environments, including deployment coordination and post-release issue resolution.

Essential Job Functions

Development & Delivery

• Rapid Feature Execution: Build and deliver production-ready web application features using React.js and TypeScript, working toward the project’s agreed delivery milestones.
• Responsive User Interfaces: Develop accessible, mobile-friendly interfaces that work consistently across modern browsers and screen sizes, following approved design specifications.
• Component Development: Create reusable, maintainable UI components and front-end features using React best practices, including hooks and effective state management.
• API Integration: Integrate with RESTful APIs, handling requests, responses, loading states, errors, and data validation reliably.
• Authentication Integration: Implement authentication flows and token handling in accordance with approved security requirements and architecture.

Architecture & Code Quality

• Scalable Design: Structure the application into modular, testable components and services to support maintainability and a smooth transition at the end of the contract.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and address rendering, bundle-size, and runtime performance issues using browser developer tools and React profiling tools.
• Testing & Reliability: Write and maintain appropriate unit, integration, and UI tests to verify functionality and reduce regressions.
• Code Governance: Participate in peer code reviews and follow agreed coding standards, accessibility practices, and front-end security guidelines.

Agile Collaboration

• Sprint Execution: Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups and sprint planning, and communicate progress, risks, and blockers promptly.
• Technical Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical debt, integration issues, and architectural bottlenecks early to support delivery.
• Documentation & Handoff: Document key components, architectural decisions, and setup or deployment procedures to support ongoing development and a smooth handoff.

Other Responsibilities

• Security & Compliance: Follow enterprise security standards when developing front-end features, particularly for authentication, token handling, browser storage, and secure communication with APIs.
• Release Management: Support build, deployment, and release activities across development, test, and production environments. Coordinate with QA and stakeholders to facilitate testing, feedback, and timely releases.
• Architectural Guidance: Collaborate with backend, design, and product teams to align API contracts, user experience, and front-end implementation with the application’s architecture and requirements.
• Code Review & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews for other contributors, promoting React.js best practices, maintainable code, and early resolution of technical debt.
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and communicate technical, integration, and schedule risks to project leadership, and recommend actionable steps to keep delivery on track.
