We're different. Always Tasty. And Fast

We are Anne’s Pantry, a bakery and café brand in Melbourne’s south-east area since it was founded by a local pastry chef in 1929. As you can tell from our brand name, our main product is the fresh and tasty baguette with a massive range of “homemade flavour” items. Anne's Pantry currently has some stores around the Surrey Hills, Box Hill, Balwyn and Ashburton.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and controlling the daily retail operations of the store to ensure efficient service and achievement of operational objectives.
  • Determining product ranges, stock levels and customer service standards based on sales performance, seasonal demand and customer preferences.
  • Selecting, training, rostering, supervising and evaluating the performance of retail staff.
  • Monitoring food products, beverages, packaging and other inventory levels and coordinating purchasing, supplier orders and inventory control.
  • Monitoring sales, labour expenses, stock costs, wastage and other operating expenses against established budgets and financial targets.
  • Overseeing point-of-sale operations, cash handling, banking, daily reconciliations and the maintenance of stock and financial transaction records.
  • Implementing pricing strategies, product displays, promotional activities and local marketing initiatives in accordance with business requirements.
  • Ensuring attractive product presentation, accurate product information and consistent customer service standards.
  • Responding to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints and implementing measures to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Planning staffing and stock requirements for weekends, public holidays, seasonal periods and periods of high customer traffic.
  • Establishing and implementing operational procedures to improve sales, productivity, stock control and service efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, hygiene and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguarding cash, stock, equipment and other business assets through appropriate security and loss-prevention procedures.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience in a similar retail management role
  • At least a Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • Applicants must have full working rights in Australia. Australian citizens and permanent residents are highly regarded.
  • Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
  • Well-developed communication and customer service abilities.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail and hospitality environment.
  • Sound understanding of stock control, sales performance and daily operational management.
