Java AEM AWS Full Stack Developer-LIT

Location: Malvern, PA ( Day 1 Onsite)

Exp: 12+ years

W2  ( Authorized to work in US)

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking an experienced AWS Full Stack Developer to design, build, and support secure, scalable, cloud-native applications. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot backend development, modern web development using JavaScript/TypeScript and the Lit library, and deployment of distributed applications on AWS.
  • The developer will work across frontend, API, microservices, data, and cloud layers, while integrating digital experiences with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). The ideal candidate can independently translate requirements into production-ready solutions and collaborate effectively with architecture, UX, DevOps, content, security, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain end-to-end web applications using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Lit-based web components.
  • Build reusable, accessible, responsive, and standards-based UI components using Lit and native Web Components.
  • Design and implement secure REST and event-driven APIs and integrate applications with enterprise and third-party systems.
  • Develop cloud-native services on AWS using appropriate compute, storage, database, integration, security, and observability services.
  • Create and support microservices deployed through containers and serverless patterns, based on solution needs.
  • Integrate frontend applications and APIs with AEM-managed content, assets, components, and headless content services.
  • Collaborate with AEM teams on Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, JSON/GraphQL delivery, client libraries, and component integration.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, secure coding, secrets management, encryption, logging, monitoring, and auditability.
  • Create automated unit, integration, API, UI, accessibility, and performance tests and resolve defects across the stack.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for repeatable deployments across environments.
  • Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve reliability and performance.
  • Participate in solution design, code reviews, Agile ceremonies, technical documentation, estimation, and release planning.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and developer productivity.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on full stack development capabilities.
  • Strong Java experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, dependency injection, data access, validation, exception handling, and API development.
  • Advanced JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, browser APIs, package management, and modern build tooling.
  • Hands-on experience building reusable custom elements and Web Components using Lit, including properties, events, templating, styling, lifecycle methods, and component testing.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrating synchronous and asynchronous services using JSON and standard API security practices.
  • Hands-on AWS development experience with services such as Lambda, ECS or EKS, EC2, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, RDS or DynamoDB, SQS or SNS, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and related services.
  • Experience with Docker, container orchestration, serverless architectures, and cloud-native application design patterns.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, query optimization, transactions, and database migration practices.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for backend, API, and frontend layers, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Strong understanding of application security, OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect, JWT, role-based access control, OWASP practices, and secure cloud configuration.
  • Experience with observability using structured logging, metrics, dashboards, alerts, distributed tracing, and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Working knowledge of Git-based development, pull requests, branching strategies, code reviews, and Agile delivery.
  • AEM Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager, preferably AEM as a Cloud Service, and how custom applications consume or integrate with AEM-managed experiences.
  • Understanding of AEM Sites, Assets/DAM, templates, components, client libraries, author/publish environments, Dispatcher/CDN concepts, and caching considerations.
  • Experience integrating applications with AEM through REST, GraphQL, Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, or other headless content patterns.
  • Ability to collaborate with AEM developers on HTL/Sightly, Sling Models, OSGi services, component contracts, and frontend integration boundaries.
  • Awareness of AEM Cloud Manager pipelines and deployment considerations is desirable.
  • Preferred Skills
  • AWS Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or relevant professional-level AWS certification.
  • Experience delivering applications in financial services or another highly regulated enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG and accessible Web Component design.
  • Experience with GraphQL, Kafka or other event-streaming platforms, OpenTelemetry, and API contract-first development.
  • Exposure to Adobe Experience Cloud products such as Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Experience Platform, or Adobe Tags/Web SDK.
  • Experience with performance engineering, CDN and caching strategies, resilience patterns, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
  • Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT for development acceleration.
