This is a varied and important role, with the opportunity to work across an exciting portfolio that includes Formula 1 facilities, heritage museums, university frameworks and complex historic residential buildings.
Youll contribute to fire strategies that go beyond simply meeting regulatory requirements, using sound engineering judgement to develop solutions that are practical, buildable and appropriate to the context of each project.
What Youll Do- Support the development and delivery of fire strategies across a diverse range of projects.
- Undertake fire engineering analysis, calculations and technical assessments.
- Prepare clear and accurate technical reports and documentation.
- Work closely with architects, design teams, clients and other consultants to influence design decisions.
- Attend project meetings and contribute confidently to technical discussions.
- Support the successful delivery of projects to programme and budget.
- Develop an understanding of how fire engineering integrates with wider design and project delivery.
- Continue developing your technical knowledge and professional capabilities within a consultancy environment.
Were looking for someone with a background in fire engineering or a closely related STEM discipline who is keen to develop their career within a multidisciplinary consultancy.
Were particularly interested in people who:
- Are comfortable applying engineering principles and analytical thinking to real-world problems.
- Want to be actively involved in projects rather than focusing solely on isolated technical tasks.
- Have a practical, solutions-focused approach to fire engineering.
- Communicate clearly and are confident contributing to collaborative design teams.
- Are keen to learn, develop and take on increasing responsibility.
- A relevant degree in Fire Engineering or another STEM discipline.
- Working knowledge of UK fire safety design guidance, such as BS 9991, BS 9999 and Approved Document B, and an understanding of how this guidance is applied in practice.
- An interest in progressing towards professional registration with the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or an equivalent professional body.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in fire engineering consultancy.
